Teaching
INSTITUTIONAL
I am an adjunct lecturer at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and Cuesta College where I teach Rock Appreciation, World Music Appreciation, and Jazz Combos. I have also taught applied music for SUNY Purchase and Burlington College.
PRIVATE INSTRUCTION
I have taught hundreds of students privately in California and New York since 1996. My teaching philosophy is to tailor instruction for each student based on their learning styles and goals. For all students I emphasize the importance of music literacy, technique, and fundamental skills (ear training, rhythm, harmony, and melody). All of these things can be developed through a student's preferred style and repertoire.
Lessons are available in person and online for electric and acoustic (double) bass, jazz improvisation, and music theory (harmony, ear training, etc.) I am also available to teach/coach ensembles and group lessons when time permits. I teach all ages and levels.
Contact me at 8052348010 for more details or email me at [email protected].
